We offer a number of different Bird handling experiences which you can participate.
Based at the award winning centre, experience the thrill of having a bird of prey land on your gloved hand.
We also run photography sessions and have bird adoption schemes.
Our gift vouchers are available all year round and can be purchased online,
they are suitable as a gift with a difference for Christmas, birthdays or any special occasion.
PLEASE NOTE : FULL AND HALF DAY COURSES INCLUDE FULL DAY ENTRY INTO THE FALCONRY
CENTRE AND THE CHANCE TO WATCH OUR 3 DAILY FLYING DISPLAYS.
Half Day Birds of Prey Experience
On arrival at the centre you will be met by one of the centre’s Falconers.
After an initial informal chat over tea and coffee we then move down into the Falconry centre for a guided tour of our exiting birds of
prey, these’ range from some of the smallest hawks, falcons and owls, to some of the largest vultures in the world. Over the next
hour you will learn the methods of Holding, Walking and Flying some of our trained birds. Some of the birds you are likely to handle
include, Harris Hawks, African Spotted Eagle Owls, Barn Owls and a Hooded Vulture with a 5ft wingspan.
The experience culminates with the opportunity to have a photo holding an Eagle.

Full Day Birds of Prey Experience
This is an extended experience of the Half Day which continues after the 1.30pm demonstration and lunch (Included).
We then take a walk onto the picturesque adjacent hillside with either a Harris Hawk or Common Buzzard which will follow and soar
before returning to your gloved hand. This really is something not to be missed. Next you watch some of the larger birds and Owls
expertly flown as they are exercised in their 3pm demonstration. The afternoon culminates with the opportunity to have photo’s taken
holding a variety of the trained birds.

Hawk Walk
This experience is designed to give a short insight into flying a Bird of Prey. Venture out with one of our Falconers into the stunning Yorkshire Dales with a Harris Hawk. The bird with fly along side you and follow on before returning onto your gloved hand.

Owl Experience
Experience the thrill of having an owl landing on your gloved hand. The Owl experience gives you the opportunity to encounter a few
different owl species we have at the centre. Owls you handle may include, Barn Owl, Eagle owl or Rufous Owl.
Price £20.00 per person (Approx half hour)
Family Owl Experience
This experience is for groups or familys of up to 4 people to have the opportunity to handle a couple of owls for an hour. Owls used
include Barn Owls, Spotted Eagle Owls and Rufous Owls.
The experience culminates with the chance to have your photo with an Eagle Owl or Bateleur Eagle.
